Description: The E21 was the second Lotus driven by the team since they re-entered the sport, after an incredible first run including 7 Constructors Championships between 1963 and 1978. The 2013 version was driven by both Finn Kimi Raikkonen and Frenchman Romain Grosjean. Raikkonen was an absolute star throughout the season, taking a victory at the opening round in Australia and earning another 7 podiums. He only retired from two races all season, while teammate Grosjean had a highest finish of 2nd and 6 podiums with 4 retirements. Raikkonen ended up missing the last two races of the season at COTA and Brazil to have back surgery after an injury suffered in the Singapore round. In his place drove fellow Finn Heikki Kovalainen who only managed 14th place in both final races. The surgery wasn't good for the fans of the sport, but it was advantageous for the Lotus team as a performance clause in Raikkonen's contract nearly bankrupted the team after the season, after an incredible 4th in the Drivers Championship.
