Description: Lot of 20 Opera News Issues for the 1942-43 Season; Volume VII, Nos. 3 through 12 and Nos. 14 through 23, in dark blue Opera News Binder. Pub. by The Metropolitan Opera Guild, Mrs. John Dewitt Peltz, editor. At the time of these issues, the publication concentrated on information associated with the weekly Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts. This was in the midst of World War II, but apparently the Met Opera persevered. The listing pics show samples of covers and contents. This lot starts with issue No. 3 of Vol. VII, dated November 2, 1942, doesn't have No. 13, and ends with No. 23 of Vol. VII, dated March 29, 1943. The binder has 20 wires for 20 issues, so it's full. Condition notes: The binder is in very good condition with only minor wear evident on corners and edges. The Opera News issues are all completely readable and enjoyable, but all show age toning, staining and handling wear. Most, but not all, show signs of being folded down the middle (see last pic for one example), maybe for mailing or maybe to fit in pockets or purses. Please see the pictures for more about this lot of 1940's Opera News issues in a very good Opera News binder. ► We are thinning contents of our smoke-free, pet-free home. Books will be listed, plus toys including CCG and trading cards, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry, household items and maybe some of my fishing and workshop stuff.
