Description: 2 HARDCASTLE: JACK O'LONDON (preDunhill/pre-1967)+JOCKEY CLUB (by Dunhill) Pipes Two special shapes by Hardcastle. A Jack O'London, bent billiard but with special shank of varying thickness and excellent curvatures, and a Jockey Club zulu. Bowl size for both similar to something between Dunhill's Group 2 and Group 3. The Jack O'London was made during the company's pre-Dunhill Era (before 1967, the year when Dunhill took over the company and downgraded it), i.e. during the famous Family Era. The Jockey Club was made by Dunhill some time in between 1967 and the late 1970s. Both pipes are in near mint condition. The fully bent has approximate diagonal length 140 mm (5.51"), bowl height 45 mm (1.77"), chamber depth 37 mm (1.46"), chamber diameter 17 mm (0.67") and weighs 28 gr (0.99 oz). Shank marks : HARDCASTLE'S [underlined, arched, logo], BRITISH MADE, JACK O'LONDON, 47 - Stem marks : H [on the side] The zulu has approximate length 143 mm (5.63"), bowl height 43 mm (1.69"), chamber depth 35 mm (1.38"), chamber diameter 17 mm (0.67") and weighs 36 gr (1.27 oz). Shank marks : HARDCASTLE'S [underlined, arched, logo], JOCKEY CLUB, 399, MADE IN LONDON | ENGLAND [all marks partly faded] - Stem marks : H [on the side] Both pipes do not take filters and have original vulcanite stems.
