Titled Indian Art USA, these stamps featured ceremonial masks from Native Americans from the Northwest. Included are: Heiltsuk, Bella Bella; Chilkat Tlingit; Tlingit; and Bella Coola. A bit more history: The United States Post Office issued its first stamp on July 1, 1847. Since that time, over 5000 stamps have been released. Each stamp is given its own identification number called a Scott Number. These stamps have been designated as Scott Number 1837a.
