Description: I love lace, so when I came across this Doulton Lambeth Slaters vase, I was delighted! This type of vase is known as Chine ware, featuring a form of decoration used between 1886 and 1914. The lace effect was achieved by pressing actual lace into the soft clay. The vase was then finished with gilding and enamel. This process was patented by Doulton and Slater, Slater being the art director at that time. This particular vase was made between 1891 and 1901. The interior of the neck and the base were decorated in a rich cobalt blue. This vase is in very good antique condition. There are no chips, cracks or other flaws to point out. It was obviously well cared for over the years. This is a huge vase, measuring 16" in height and 6.25" wide at the top. The base is 5" in diameter. I put a water bottle next to the vase in picture 12 to show how big it really is.
