Dates approximately 1850/1890. FULLY LOCKS. In WONDERFUL restored condition. No missing or replaced veneer. A fantastic Victorian box in great restored condition. Inlaid with the original mother of pearl roundels and pewter stringing to the top and front. Original mother of pearl central cartouche and keyhole escucheon. Coming very difficult to obtain these boxes in this sort of condition.It is a really terrific box!! I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Box retains the original lock, hinges and top catch. Supplied with a silk tassel and Victorian key that FULLY LOCKS the box. Instruction given once sold. ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US. Comprising a wonderful interior that boasts a later wooden tray finished to a superb standard that compliments. This has been relined in expensive velvet material of the highest quality, the same as the interior of the box. All the added dividers within the tray can easily be repositioned or removed if desired. The tray can hold a few rings in an upright position. Underneath the additional tray and beneath the base of the box have also been lined in velvet to stop any scratches to other surfaces. A superb box, and would make a fantastic gift.
