Description: After listing my pipe collection on eBay, it’s time to part with my Ashtons by Bill Taylor. 1989 EARLY Ashton Sovereign XX Billiard pipe with nice cross grain. Genuine Bill Taylor made w/ Ashtonite mouthpiece. Made in the first seven years of production NICE CONDITION From 1983-2005 The Ashton Pipe creator Bill Taylor made incredible English briars that are also fabulously good smokers, thus highly collectible to this day. Ashton quality continues. But collectors know that Bill Taylor Era pipes are special. This piece is somewhat rare as it is dated 1989 and therefore early. Cross grains are also excellent smoking and not easy to find. Check out the grain on all sides the bowl and shank. Dunhill would be jealous! It has no scratches, dents, shop wear, rim char, or excessive cake. There is some tooth chatter. The pipe is in very good condition. It was was gently smoked with Best Brown Burley and BPC, and English style tobacco. Its dimensions are: LENGTH: 5-1/2 inches HEIGHT: 1-7/8 inches WIDTH: 1-3/8 inches CHAMBER DIAMETER: 7/8 inches WEIGHT : 1.28 oz (making it about a Dunhill group 4) Marked XX Ashton SOVEREIGN Made In England 9 Here it is Ashton friends.....or I will be very glad to keep it.
