Description: I've had this Space Echo since the early 1990's, but it's been only used for recording for the last 20 years. There aren't many of these currently available that are US market models - most are Japan market models meant to run on 100 volts. Don't risk running one of the Japanese market units on significant overvoltage by plugging it into a 120 volt outlet. This unit is made to run on American wall voltage. Like most tape delays, the preamp on these imparts a really nice quality to your signal. You can set the input volume very clean (by using the input volume and meter) or push it up to add some grit to your signal. There is a footswitch provided that can be used to turn the delayed signal on or off, although you are running through the preamp section all the time, whether the delay is engaged or not (most people find this to be a good thing). Also included is a spare tape loop from Echo Fix. The currently installed tape is a nearly new loop and is also from Echo Fix. They are the go to folks for all things Space Echo. The RE-150 is simpler to use than the other models like the 201, 301, etc - no reverb or chorus. There are multiple playback heads, with 3 multi-echo modes, and three modes with single repeats. All are explained on the sheet attached to the lid. Digital recreations are quite advanced these days and have plenty of useful features, but nothing sounds like the real thing. Even individual ones sound slightly different from each other. This one sounds fantastic and has been used on a lot of records in the 90's and 2000's.
