The Buccaneers had their first practice. Thedream didn't die there, for shortly afterwards, uniforms were ordered and the Buccaneers took thefield for the first time and were received as the ambassador of all the people of the area. Many times since this first performance have the people dug deep into their pockets to send their am-bassadors as representatives of the area. Twice to Memphis' Cotton Carnival; twice to the Tri-StateMarching Festival in Chattanooga; to Winchester, Virginia, as Alabama's official band for the AppleBlossom Festival; to Birmingham's National Veteran's Day Parade, and all local parades went theBuccaneers, always holding their heads high because of the wonderful people whom they were repre-senting. In May, 1967, came the ultimate for the Buccaneers when a letter arrived, inviting GreenHill's Buccaneers in Blue to participate on National T. V. at the Cotton Bowl. For this event thearea raised $8,000 to show the entire nation what can be done when people dream and work together. It is to these wonderful people that we proudly dedicate "Sounds of the Buccaneers" in considerationof their constant encouragement and support. Now, may we present "Sounds of the Buccaneers"!ROGERS HIGH SCHOOL BUCCANEERS IN BLUE4th Annual Spring ConcertRecorded Live March 8, 1968Side OneThundercrestToccata for BandA Trumpeter's LullabyComet Soloist: Wayne ChaneyChimes of LibertyKentucky 1800Side TwoTypendiumTympani Soloist: Gene RichardsonDixieland JamboreeDixieland Combo:Wayne Chaney, CometGreg Burgess, TromboneFrank Pettus, ClarinetGene Richardson, DrumsOn Parade with the BuccaneersAmparito RocaSwing LowR.H.S.
