New Orleans police Wednesday night arrested a 23-year-old man they said is wanted in Houston, Texas, for the murder of a former deputy sheriff. Police identified the suspect as James Curtis Oglesby, Pensacola, Florida. Oglesby denied the slaying and signed a waiver to return to Houston. Victim of the shooting, which occurred at 9 p.m. Tuesday during an attempted holdup at his grocery store, was Thomas John Benford, 52.
