Description: This is a classic, one of a kind, beautifully restored 1955 General Electric refrigerator. 100% made in Louisville Kentucky USA. I have meticulously disassembled the entire unit down to the last nut and bolt. I sanded and painted the unit with 2 coats primer, 4 coats pastel blue enamel, and 2-3 coats gloss enamel clear. 3k prep, compound, and finished with a wax polish. Primed and enameled the evaporator in gloss white, and high temp black gloss enamel for the compressor.Fabricated new shims for all door parts in 272 solid naval brass. I Etched them with position markings, sanded and polished. Disassembled door and added a whole sheet of HVAC bubble insulation, and topped off with a bran new commercial grade magnetic gasket made in Atlanta GA. It does not need the latch per fridge safety act. Original latch will be included for purposes of originality. Painted trim white. Custom fabricated back access panel in 260 solid brass with copper rivets to replace the plastic one. Fixed broken crisper. Tucked in some added insulation here and there. Deep cleaned every inch of this appliance to near new appearance. Resoldered compressor connections, resistor connections, and added new wire where needed. New A15 appliance bulb GE refresh LED 5.5w. Sonic cleaned all hardware and some electrical parts including the original potential relay. Wired a new cord with multiple grounds. New Tempered Glass shelf Peninsula Glass Made in WA USA. Etc etc. This is as close to bran new as possible. Minus a couple cracks in the 74 year-old plastic. I'm tempted to keep this one though. Its possibly the most efficient RIC i have seen. Draws 2.1 amps and cycles once maybe every 2.5-3 hr. It is a stunning restoration that took me over three months to preform this work. Don't miss out on the opportunity to add this piece of history to your collection. It was originally purchased in Portsmouth at State Street Discount as a wedding gift to my neighbor's parents inb1955. This is unit lasted their entire relationship which is still going strong in the next life. He inherited it, and then sold it to me. This would make an absolute fantastic wedding gift.
