The three men met in this amiable pose shortly before the regular delegation from California met in a caucus which ended in a violent free for all when members of the Holdridge group invaded the caucus demanding to be heard. The Democratic National Committee rejected the demands of the Holdridge people that they be seated at the convention instead of the Kefauver contingent which won the state primary.
