Description: This listing for a 1950's blue & white Jewish National Fund Tzedakah Box with Yiddish, Hebrew & English. Included is a working key. On the front is pictured a map of Israel showing the Gaza Strip as part of Egypt. It was under Egyptian control between 1949-1967. Several Jewish cities are pictured including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Tiberias and more. On the front in Hebrew it says "KEREN KAYEMET LEYISRAEL ZION" and in English "JEWISH NATIONAL FUND Redeems and Reclaims the Land of Israel. On the back in Yiddish it reads "דער אידישער באדן - דעם אידישן פאלק!" and in English it reads "make the wilderness bloom JEWISH NATIONAL FUND" along with the US address for JNF. The address does not list a zip code, which were first introduced in 1963 which helps us to further narrow the date of this Tzedakah Box. On one edge it says "JNF" and "Jewish National Fund" in English and Hebrew. On the other edge there is a picture of the 7-branch menorah, "ISRAEL" in Hebrew and "MADE IN U.S.A." This measures 4 9/16" x 3 1/2" x 1 5/8". There are signs of prior use including a dent, light scratches & rust, and rub marks. The metal is a little bent on the back where it was hung on a nail and on the top back corner (Marked in photo). Please see the photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee.
