Description: This is a 1948 Stromberg Carlson radio model 1204 built in Rochester NY. Great looking radio. The case shows the move from deco to mid century modern. Saw this at a recent radio show and had to convert it to Bluetooth. Removed all of the non working parts to make room for the new electronics. The original black bakelite case was in need of TLC. Repaired a few cracks before refinishing it a very cool deco burgundy. Was able to reuse the brass/chrome speaker cover & the original dial. Look at the pics. I try to save as much of the original as possible & reuse it. On the inside I installed a new 50 watt digital Bluetooth amp connected to a Pioneer 5" multi range speaker. Really has a great sound for a small box. It had no knobs so I used 4 matching ones from my inventory painted gold. The on/off/volume knob is lower right the others are fixed. DO NOT TURN. Like the gold color with the burgundy, nice contrast. Now this deco/MCM classic is looking beautiful again. Please look at the pics. This is one of a kind speaker that is cool. A real conversation piece that makes a grand statement. Buy it for yourself or give it as a great gift.
