1924 Album Helvetia complete Rookie Enzo Ferrari unique museum specimen !!!

Description: Presented is a 90-piece complete set of impossibly scarce, Italian-issue confectionary cards released by Reggio-Emilia-based company Helvetia in the early 1920s. Each item from this multi-sport gallery is pasted into its specially branded album beneath the heading relating to the subject's particular sport (including automobile racing, motorcycle racing, soccer, running, cycling, and boxing). Although the cardbacks are no longer visible due to the method of display, the original cardback text implored collectors to send in the complete collection of 90 cards; after they were received, the items would be "canceled" by the company (which is likely what has resulted in the single hole-punch on the majority of the cards) and returned along with a cash prize of 25 lira. The album is replete with sporting superstars from the period. The majority of the personages are Italian: iconoclasts such as racers and automobile innovators Enzo Ferrari (in a Rookie Card appearance; Ferrari's surname is erroneously spelled "Ferrario" on the offered entry, a spelling that has been corrected to "Ferrari" in later printings) and Alfieri Maserati, soccer icons Adolfo Baloncieri, Umberto Caligaris, and Virginio Rosetta, and pugilist Georges Carpentier (a multiple-time heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, and likely the most recognizable non-Italian in the array) lend the assembly considerable star power. All of the included pieces are presented in their "name in blue" printing variation, generally regarded as the first printing of this issue. These cards are exceptionally rare, and hardly ever encountered in their complete, album-bound form. SGC has validated only 78 total examples from this production (including variations in print color and name spelling), including only 24 of the 90 total subjects. The cards themselves concede the aforementioned hole-punch "cancellation" as well as routine discoloration but otherwise project clear, compelling photography; the album cover concedes spots of discoloration and stamping, but the text remains fully legible.
