Description: Dressed in a beautiful red Paramount holder with NGC MS64 certification, this is a gorgeous 1923 Peace Silver Dollar.. This particular dollar was most likely added AFTER Paramount sold the Redfield dollars. They were so popular that they starting slabbing other silver dollars to fill demand. There was so much controversary surrounding the Redfield find. Many people tried to buy the hoard, some thought they were successful only to find out that the state government was now involved and stopped their sale from happening. Lawsuit after lawsuit, finally a buyer in 1976 was able to complete the purchase of the hoard for 7.3 million dollars. A-Mark Financial sold the coins individually using Paramount holders. This turned into a very profitable acquisition for them. Today, these coins are still very sought after. They continue to bring higher and higher prices at auction and seem to be an excellent investment. It is certainly a great item for your collection. Very interesting indeed!
