Description: 1917 M AUSTRALIAN FLORIN IN EX/FINE + CONDITIONSeldom seen in this condition - see photo's - nice lustre - this coin is from my collection and has not been cleaned. The easiest (and most described) detail referred to when grading Australian coins of this era are the details to the King's crown band. Someone trying to describe a coin as 'EF' might state "8 pearls, full centre diamond" referring to the definition of the crown band. Overall: All detail raised and clearly defined. Should be harder to identify wear without closer inspection. Even with detractors, a coin in EF will be appealing, simply because of the level of detail. Reverse: Very clear definition of all detail. Inner rim denticals take on a rounded appearance at the top, rather than the flattened tops of a more worn coin. This is the case also with lettering and date, although more difficult to pick Even detail throughout. Obverse: 3rd and 4th pearls (2nd set from left in crown band), raised, separated, and clearly defined. These pearls should be individually very obvious to the naked eye without magnification. Finer detail, such as hair, cheek, eyebrow, detail on high points of robe, etc, visible with good definition, and very little wear. Closer examination reveals very minor wear to the high points. The highest features, such as the 3rd and 4th pearls (left of centre diamond in crown band) are a little flat at the top, although are separated from each other and clearly individual pearls.
