Description: The silent stopper of the series. Try finding a choice or better coin-they are impossible. This coin is simply amazing for its grade! And it was NEVER a Fairmont coin (most of those are dirty and don't look too good). In our opinion this coin is a 63+++. The amount of chatter on the surfaces is so small and minimal. Only when using a strong glass can you see any of the light chatter. The originality just oozes from this coin. A moderate luster can be seen. Both sides are a slightly deeper gold color w/faint toning. This is NOT a dirty or dull coin. There are no spots or discolorations-especially on the highpoints. All of the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal for this 14-S is clearly above average! PCGS 64, NGC 28, CAC 17 (w/only 4 coins beaned higher). PCGS has graded 3 coins MS63+. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell via auction brought $30,500.00 07/2023. The current Collectors Universe value is $37,500.00. In 2021 we placed a 14-S in PCGS CAC MS64 for $92,500.00. The lone PCGS CAC MS65 is in the Half Dome collection. By far, this silent sleeper is our favorite date in the series. If you are building a choice/GEM set of $5 Indians, this maybe one of your few chances ever to buy a nice 14-S! In our opinion, in MS63-65 PCGS CAC this actually IS a completable set. Yes, there are plenty of people who collect Indian Gold.
