Description: Toledo model 383-C Computing Scale -- patent 1906 this is the 'Electric' lighted model with four little fixtures front and back of the 'barrel' scale, inside the glass -- probably circa 1910 / 1911 -- for use in General and Grocery stores and butcher shops: 'for groceries, meat and provisions' -- glass is beveled front and back of the main body and on the sides of the barrel part -- -- scale measures app. 30 in. high by about 18 in. wide at the barrel -- base is app. 15 by 20 in. -- -- old ad pictures shown are from the "Toledo's Attic" site: from 'A Century of Toledo Scale' -- -- no glass pan -- seemed to work fine as a scale -- wiring is cut so lighting no longer works -- has been repainted over the years with one side 'window' painted 'shut' and some overall wear to the paint -- no original decals remain -- -- *PLEASE NOTE: will be shipped disassembled in 3 packages with the glass in a separate box [see last pics for an idea]* -- Each week we post a number of interesting items that have been purchased from Oregon Estate Sales-shipping can be recalculated and combined with multiple purchases-please let me do the calculating for combined shipments before paying.
