Description: Rare and historic 1910 real photo postcard from Evansville, Indiana. The postcard shows Winifred Sackville Stoner in her office. Stoner was a teacher and the founder of 3 schools of "Natural Education" and she also published books of verse and local history. She appears to be sitting in her office which is filled with photos, a poster and tools of her teaching program "Natural Education". Mrs Stoner had employed these techniques of "Natural Education" to teach her daughter Winifred Jr who had become known as a child genius. In 1916 her educational techniques and games were published in a Manual of National Education. There is more to be found on her on the internet if you want to see or read more on her than I can put on this listing. It is very interesting. This postcard comes from my personal collection and if you are an Indiana or teaching education collector sure to become one of your favorites as it was mine. There is lots of material to study in this postcard on the wall and on her desk! Sharp Real photo image postcard is in very good not posted condition with some minor foxing at the bottom.
