Description: Here we have a gorgeous Victorian Spode Copeland (England) creamware polychrome (over brown) transferware dinner plate in the Delft pattern featuring Dolwyddelan Castle. (This plate is marked as such, but the Spode Tower pattern is, if not exactly the same as Delft, very nearly like it.) Pattern number 3993. Scalloped, heavily embossed, edge. We have another one of these, as well as lots of other fabulous transferware, in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. Vintage: registry mark on back indicates 1894 Approximate extreme measurements: 10.25" diameterCondition: Our photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. Very clean, bright, and colorful piece that displays beautifully. No chips, cracks, silver/gray utensil marks, or deep scratches. No scratches at all, in fact, not even the very light, completely colorless kind, indicating that it was never used to eat off of. Light, unstained, crazing throughout, front and back. Back has a single yellow stain, which doesn't show from the front. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
