The front of mug has a wonderful hand painted Native American wearing a headdress and signed S.M.CLARK just to the lower left of indian....Nice maker's mark on bottom is an artist pallette with the fancy script initials C A C (which stands for Ceramic Art Co) and the word BELLEEK....Mug has gold wash around the upper part ofinterior....heavy applied rounded handle....5 1/2"tall...sunken bottom...Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips, repairs or damage of any kind. A nice clean mug with no stains. The Ceramic Art Co was established in 1889 at Prince & Mead Streets in Trenton, New Jersey. They made some of the finest decorated American Belleek porcelains ever made. The Ceramic Art Co changed their name to Lenox in 1906.
