Description: This listing is for a beautiful vaseline glass celery/relish dish made by Campbell, Jones & Co. circa 1884. This pattern was simply dubbed Line 720, but was commonly referred to as "fine cut." These novelty canoe/boat shaped dishes were described in the manufacturer's catalogue as "spice boats." You can read more about the 720 line at https://www.eapgs.net/full-images.php?idx=83788&pat=1141 . These canoes were manufactured in amber, canary, green, apple green, and blue. Some had dividers in the interior to create compartments. (This one is canary yellow and does not have interior dividers). Measures about 11" long, about 3 5/8" wide, and stands about 2" tall. Black light tested. Glows beautifully. The inner rim feels a bit rough when you run a finger around it. There is also a short vertical line extending down from the rim. I thought it was a mold seam, but you can feel it when you run a fingernail over it, so I guess it technically qualifies as a crack. (See close up photo). Otherwise, in exceptionally fine antique condition! If you are a collector of Campbell, Jones & Co. pieces, or you're putting together a collection of the canoes specifically, here's an opportunity to add a fabulous, hard-to-find piece to your collection. Will be wrapped with care and shipped with GOBS of packing material! I am listing many other items on eBay, including other collectible antique glass pieces. Please check my other items, as I will be happy to combine shipping. I do not accept returns. Please examine the photos and description carefully, and ask questions if you are unsure. ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES.
