Stamps of Sardinia were superseded by Italy’s stamps, and were kept identical except for perforations. Since the Sardinian stamps were imperforate, the perforations of Italy’s early stamps were very close to the frames of the design; this stamp’s centering is very fine. With excellent centering, this stamp will be a fantastic addition to someone’s collection. As can be seen, all perforations are present although some are short. King Victor’s embossed head is sharp and clean, as can be seen by both the front and gum-side pictures. This stamp is a mid to late run printing due to the edge frame design being slightly blurred. The earlier frame designs were distinct and clear. As can be seen in the second-to-last picture, this stamp doesn’t have a watermark. There are many varying shades of this stamp, but this stamp’s color is clean and still vibrant. There is a small, yellowish stain directly in front of King Emmanuel’s forehead and eyes. As can be seen in the pictures, the stain is barely noticeable at all. The last picture shows this. An absolute gem to add to your collection. There aren’t very many of these available on eBay, and they aren’t as well centered as this one is! Thank you for looking and check back often for more interesting items.
