Description: 1852 3 Cent Silver PieceSKU# 35002 A Pre-Civil War Era coin, this Three Cent Silver "Trime" piece was put into circulation due to a Silver shortage occurring at the time. The "Trime" wasn't well received by the public because of it's size making it very easy to lose or misplace. Due to the shortage of U.S. issued coins at the time, they nevertheless received heavy circulation. This coin is an average example. Pristine examples are quite rare. P.C.G.S. prices these in the second lowest grade (PR-O2) at $60 if graded. This (Type 1) design was in use from 1851-1853, with the Type 2-3 designs being minted from 1854-1873... The coin in the photos is the one that you'll receive. Please refer to the photos and feel free to reach out with any questions... We also recommend using the "Add To Cart" option instead of the "Buy It Now" option as it allows you to select more than one item should you wish to, combining them as one order and only pay one shipping fee!
