The card was stamped with a cachet in purple ink marking the 150th Anniversary of the British Evacuation of New York on November 25, 1783, during the American War for Independence. There are two images in the cachet, the top one depicting British sailing vessels leaving the harbor, and the bottom one depicting George Washington and his troops entering New York. The message side of the card is printed with a form issued by the Clerk of the District Court, Park County, Montana. The top left corner of the front of the card has been torn off.
