Description: This lovely 15.5" girl was made by Conta and Boehme in the early 1870s. She has a rounder child like face with a short curly hairstyle with a scalloped pattern of curls framing her forehead and sides of her face. Her most notable feature are her pierced ears. Her china shoulderplate is slightly indented in the center to give a look of cleavage. She has 2 sew holes front and on back. She is incised on back shoulder but hard to read. There are no cracks or chips. She does have hair rubs front and back. She has an antique body with chunky china bisque arms a wonderful long china lower legs with purple bows and flat black boots. The tips of each boot are chipped. She comes with a provenance from her last owner who bought her in 1948 in Arizona. She is wearing multiple layers of under garments and a very pretty button down red dress that is hand sewn. Please review all photos and ask questions. I am happy to combine shipping or arrange free pick up on Cape Cod. She will come carefully wrapped and insured. If you love China dolls may I suggest investing in Mary Gorham Krombholz book A pictural Reference Guide to German Chinas. I have included pictures of this doll on the pages that talk about her.
