The methanol prevents the gel from swelling during the transfer and enhances the protein binding to membranes. Usage Recommendations:To prepare 1X TG transfer buffer: add 100 ml of 10X TG buffer to 700 ml of deionized water, then add 200 ml methanol and mix well. Use fresh 1X TG transfer buffer.
