Makes the Cap easier to grasp when putting them on the Cylinder Nipple. 2. Helps prevent percussion caps from falling off -or- wedging into the Revolver's action. 3. Prevents moisture from contaminating the percussion caps & powder when having a loaded cylinder. (pull down over the Nipple a bit) 4. Helps reduce the risk of "Chain-Fires" because live caps will stay on and not exposing live chamber flash holes.
