Shiros are fairly active medium sized black and white pods, and were previously categorized as a Cubaris species. They like a fairly humid enclosure, with plenty of substrate for burrowing. They require hides, calcium, plentiful leaf litter, and seem to enjoy protein more than supplemental veggies. Shiro utsuris are known for their amusing habit of riding on their fellow pods' heads like a little hat- this behavior is called 'mate guarding', and is believed to be an effort by the males to prevent others from mating with the female.
