Description: These palm trees do fine indoors and will reach 6 to 8 feet in a bright room. If you plant them in a container, use peat moss-based potting soil and be sure to have good drainage so that their root balls are never sitting in water. As they were rated as one of the most effective plant air purifiers in the Clean Air Study done by NASA, you will enjoy the extra benefit of bringing a breath of fresh air into your home or office. Outdoors, they will grow well either in pots to brighten your patio or balcony or in the ground as an individual beautiful tree or a dense screen. They are very easy to grow and require little maintenance. We planted them around our pool 26 years ago and they quickly grew to the height you see in the photos I posted here. They especially flourish in areas with sandy soil where water is ample and soil drainage is good. They grow happily in either full sun or partially filtered light. If planted in the ground, they will spread out and create a bushy, bright green privacy hedge. If you are not in a tropical or subtropical region, you will have to keep them in pots and bring them inside during cooler weather. All of my plants and trees are 100% organic as I have bee hives on my property and never use pesticides.
